Someone Built a PC in an RC Semi-Truck

Custom gaming PC builds are one of the defining features of the platform, and one of the primary draws for countless PC gaming fans. While it’s easy to pick up a pre-built PC for those that are willing to shell out a few extra bucks to save some effort, others take pride in making custom rigs piece by piece. Oftentimes, that simply results in a beefy desktop to sit on one’s shelf. Other times, though, fans will whip up some pretty interesting creations.

Over on Reddit, u/imthatguy77 showed off a custom gaming PC that they built inside of an RC semi-truck. The truck itself is big and yellow with a blue cargo crate. That blue cargo crate is covered with graffiti branding, which is a nice added touch to the general aesthetic. While the design is great on its own, it’s what’s under the hood – or in the back – that really counts.

Imthatguy77 has equipped their PC gaming rig with an Nvidia GeForce 2060 graphics card, an EVGA power supply, and a display to keep track of some of the PC’s statistics, like internal temperature and CPU load. The PC also has a fan mounted on the bottom, giving it some airflow. It’s a logistically impressive setup, considering how many components have to be condensed down into a single RC car.

They did go the extra step and make some custom mounting equipment too, which they shared in a YouTube video of the rig on their channel, Scale Builder’s Guild. The specific specs for the PC are:

Intel i5 9400F

EVGA Z370 Stinger

EVGA 2060 KO GPU

GSkill Ripjaws 16GB DDR43600

EVGA 120 AIO

Tamiya 1/14th scale Mercedes Arocs Semi Truck and Container Trailer

Judging by the other RC cars on the Redditors shelf, they’re pretty invested in both pastimes, so it makes sense that they would combine them into one. What’s most impressive about the build is that, according to imthatguy77, the RC car is still fully functional, simply requiring the driver to pull the power plug from the PC for it to be ready to roll. The project has taken a considerable amount of time, though, apparently starting sometime in November 2020.

This isn’t the first time the Redditor has made an impressive gaming PC either, as they’ve also done builds like a McLaren-themed PC. Imthatguy77 is promising more to come in the future, with more videos about the construction of the PC happening sometime soon.
