Rumour Suggests iPhone 15 Series Could Launch On 13 September 2023

Now entering August, we are more or less a month away from the unveiling of Apple’s latest iPhone models, which often takes place within the first or second week of September every year. While the company itself has yet to make an announcement regarding its annual keynote, rumour has it that the event could fall on 13 September 2023.

Word of this was first brought to light by web publication 9to5Mac, citing “multiple sources” who are familiar with the matter. It is said that Apple had issued a memo to its employees, urging them to not take days off on the aforementioned date due to “a major smartphone announcement.” Of course, seeing this is unofficially confirmed, whether or not the date provided is actually accurate remains to be seen.

But one thing’s for certain though, the Cupertino-based tech giant does consistently unveil its next generation smartphone models during the first half of September. Notwithstanding are the exact dates, which changes every year, though most of the time the launches do fall on either a Tuesday or Wednesday. On that note, and in case you’re wondering, 13 September 2023 falls on a Wednesday.

It is also unclear why Apple requires all of its workforce to be present for a launch, though one possible reason is that it needs enough people to ensure that the event runs smoothly. For context, the company has returned to hosting in-person launches again starting with the unveiling of last year’s

iPhone 14, which is its first non-virtual keynote after restrictions for the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted in the US.

And since we’re talking about unconfirmed rumours, there have been plenty of those circulating for months now about the upcoming smartphone series from Apple. For those who’ve somehow missed them, leaksters have suggested that all iPhone 15 models will finally ditch the notch to streamline the Dynamic Island feature, on top of having Wi-Fi 6E support, a UWB chip upgrade, stacked batteries, and the long awaited change to USB-C. Meanwhile, the Pro variants are said to come with a new action button to replace the mute switch, capacitive buttons, as well as titanium frames and thinner bezels.

Much like the suggested launch date, the only way to find out whether all of these rumours or leaks are accurate is when Apple itself confirms or denies them. For that, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement, which is expected to be made sometime later this month or by very early September.(Source: 9to5Mac)
